Homemade, Handmade Holiday Carnival

A homemade, handmade holiday carnival! How fun, I'm going to post this wreath that I made for Christmas last year. I think I got this idea while flipping through a magazine last year, I don't know what the magazine was though. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of exactly how to make it but it's pretty simple to explain and by looking at the pictures, I don't think it's too hard to figure out. Looking at the picture now, I realize I didn't fix the bow before snapping the picture haha.

What you'll need:
2 boxes of mini candy canes
12" foam wreath (or any size you want to make it)
Christmas ball ornaments
white ribbon (or any color you want peeking through)
red velvet ribbon
hot glue gun

First you need to wrap your wreath in the white ribbon, it took me about 3 yards to wrap it all. Then take some red ribbon and glue it around the middle of the wreath. After you've wrapped the wreath, start hot gluing the candy canes all over, any which way you want. Fill it up as much or as little as you'd like, then hot glue the ornaments on top of the candy canes. Then make a bow, I wrapped some of the red ribbon with white ribbon and just made loops that I glued together. After you make the bow, hot glue it to the bottom of your wreath. I didn't do this with mine but you could use some extra ribbon to hang the wreath, I just stuck mine up on a nail.

See more creations over at Antique Mommy. I can't wait to see more creations! I love crafting.

Very nice! I may try it if I can get my hands on some candy canes (unfortunately not too likely).

This is wonderful. I have already bought candy canes and I even have a wreath. It was meant to be.

What a great craft for our kids! We could make this and take it to our sweet friend who lives in an assisted living center. She'll be the talk of the hallway!

A very cute craft idea. I can't help but think, though, of all those poor candy canes going to waste while nobody eats them ... :)
