favorited?

Crazy as it sounds, a few of my pictures have been 'favorited' in my flickr photo stream. I never expected anyone to actually like some of the things I've made but it's kind of nice that they do. If you didn't know that I had a flickr account, now you do. Flickr is definitely my other big addiction (besides etsy) I can literally spend hours just browsing everyone's amazing crafts and quilts. My brain gets overloaded with ideas every time I click over to that site. Check out my favorites to see for yourself how many amazingly talented people are out there.

another great grosgrain giveaway.

Win an adorable pettiskirt from Grosgrain!

my pretty baby (non human)

Remember when I was bitching about my vacuum? No? Oh well. I was bitching because it sucked big time! I swore I mentioned this because I did buy a new one some time ago now. As soon as we got our tax refund we went out and bought this beauty.

A Dyson Ball. Isn't she gorgeous? I love it to death, I really do! I won't mention how much it cost me because it makes me a bit nauseous to think about. But, it was totally worth the money! As soon as I set it up, I vacuumed every crevice of my house, it was gross to see how bad my old vacuum really was. I think it made me more nauseous to see what my old vacuum was missing than the price did. Really, it was stomach curdling.

I have no dusty smell in my house since this purchase, it's amazing what a good vacuum can do to a place, my carpet even looks almost new again. If you're wanting this vacuum but still not sure about it, buy it (if you have the extra dough). I bought the bigger one because my kids aren't exactly the cleanest bunch, you can buy the smaller one for about $100 dollars cheaper. It's worth every single penny.

little earthquakes.

I just finished this book, Little Earthquakes, last night, it was the first book I've read by Jennifer Weiner. I'd been browsing her section for some time but never picked one up. I'm glad I finally did, it was a really good read and so very hard to put down. It made me cry and laugh so many times, so you know it's good. It's about four women who all just kind of fall into their friendships. Each 'chapter' is written from each woman's prospective, they all go through their own troubles and heartaches. This is definitely chick-lit, I think I'm starting to really like this genre, it seems to be the type I'd rather choose at the bookstore lately. I'm going to pick up another by Jennifer Weiner soon, have you read any by her? Any recommendations?

bit of crafting.

Finally there is something going on around here other than cutting for quilts. I will show you more of these bunnies when I'm finished with them, I am hoping it works out like I have planned in my mind. I took the adorable embroidery pattern from orange flower sketchbook, enlarged it and then cut it out of felt. The tails are being made of french knots, even though it's slow going, they are turning out more adorable than I expected.

etsy.

My addiction to buying off etsy has not let up one little bit. My favorites list over to the left there gets bigger pretty much every day.

I bought this Mei Tai from turtle turtle at a very afforable price. I didn't want to pay too much since I've never used one. Lizzy is in the picture only because Zach was napping at the time, she's not a fan of being held but she was a good sport for me. Zach loves it, he would stay in it all day if he could. I can't wait to start taking more walks with him in it.

I bought these two prints from Vol.25, I couldn't get a decent picture of them in their frames, I have such crappy lighting in my apartment. I love love love these prints! They are for sure not going to be the last I buy from here. When I received them, I also got a little notepad and some coloring pages for my girls, what a cute extra! The owl one is in Zach's room and the house is above my couch in the living room. They look so perfect here, I can't wait to get my hands on some more of Jessica's work. You should definitely go to Vol.25, you will surely find something you like.

Speaking of Jessica from Vol.25, she has a free print available for download and printing here. As soon as I get more ink for my printer, that one will be sitting beside the house I bought. I also want to print off the ones from Mandy Sutcliffe and Stephanie Fizer. Go check out all the free prints if you want to spruce up your space!

tweets explained.

I have grown pretty addicted to my twitter account. I try to avoid the big trends (Twilight is still being avoided in this house!), twitter was joined awhile ago but ignored. It couldn't be ignored any longer, it's fun to be on twitter. I even attended a "big girls" party through it. It's not always so easy to make a witty tweet in 140 characters or less I must say though. Not that I really have much to say that's witty, I'm not a very witty girl I guess. But, I figured I'd explain some of my recent tweets because sometimes what you're trying to say doesn't always make much sense. Witty or not (not), I'm explaining anyway.

it is taking so much strength to not take out that bottle of liquor right now. I need to drive soon - I think this is pretty self explanatory, my kids were driving me crazy, hubby was out doing whatever the hell it is he does when he goes out. He was ignoring me when I wanted my vehicle so I could take the kids to my parents, I needed sleep to get rid of the sick and hubby is always too busy to help me out. But, I will not get into the hubby issue, trying to not be upset about crap anymore.

strange sick side effect: smelling Vicks when there is none in the house. - I was deathly sick and smelly Vicks everywhere I went. But, we don't have Vicks here, so why I was smelling it, I have no clue. Is it normal to smell something so out there while you're sick?

I enjoy some Dan Levy :) he's quite cute too http://www.mtv.ca/tvshows/a... - Yes, I do enjoy some Dan Levy. He's a host on MTV's AfterShow, I think the US might get that after The Hills, I'm not 100% on that but I know there are Americans on the webcam during the show often. He's also super adorable, I probably wouldn't be able to speak if I met him.

Lizzy passed out on couch. want to sew but I know it will wake her up. - This was before I was sick, she had been up all night the night before. Coughing, sneezing, dry heaving, crying, etc. She is the one who passed the death cold to me.

why do they need to be outside the octo-mom's house so much? it's so irritating to see, can't imagine how that family feels - Saw all those media freaks crowding around the vehicle that brought 2 of those babies home. It drives me nuts to see things like that, I'm so glad I'm no celebrity, I'd be more insane than I already happen to be.

I think that's about all I can handle explaining. Was that boring or can I do that more often? Maybe I'll do it again when some of my tweets are more juicy! Go ahead, follow me, if you so choose.

been awhile

I know it's been a very long time since I last posted. Well, anything besides a found giveaway. Life has been getting in the way I guess, not always in the best way though. It's been a rough few weeks around here unfortunately but I won't get into it all, I don't feel much like being all upset anymore. I'll try to post more often, I have so many things I really need to blog about. Mostly mail but soon some sewing, I've done quite a bit of cutting, I just need to get to the sewing part.

I found a fun swap for my girls to participate in, they love getting mail and this one is an easy, quick one for them to get done. If you hurry, maybe you can get in too. I really mean hurry fast, sign-ups close tomorrow. Just click the button to hop on over.

beautiful giveaway

Beautiful things being given away at Oh, Hello Friend.

Not much to report on the goings on here. Been doing my cross stitch every night. You would think with how often I pull the thing out, I'd be done by now, it's not that big. The bedtime sticker chart is semi-working, it worked perfectly the first two nights then last night, not so much. But, I guess there's bound to be hiccups.

baby legs

I found this fun giveaway last week and decided to take part. I finished up the babylegs I planned on making before I even had Zach.

Not going to post the before picture, not all that interesting, just some socks. As soon as Zach gets up from his nap, I'll be slipping a pair on him!

The prize for this giveaway is huge! If you have some sort of crafty project laying around, why don't you go join in and finish it up?

a bedtime sticker chart.

If you've been following me on twitter lately, you would know how dark a mood I have been in. I can't stand it but I can't seem to lift it. A screaming, tantruming 2 year old at 2AM doesn't help much either. Lizzy has been throwing massive fits this last week whenever she has to go to bed. She screams like crazy and keeps running out of her room, I end up spending the whole night constantly putting her back in her bed and trying to calm her down. Not much has worked to get her to quiet down, so it's been extremely stressful.

Last night, I was trying to think up some ways to get her to start behaving and I thought a sticker chart might work out well. Though, I wasn't too sure how exactly to go about it, so I googled it (google is my friend). Tonight I found this article, 10 Sticker Chart Tips. We're going the "instant gratification" route tonight, I already know that my girl would not just take to a sticker chart right away and understand what we were doing. I've already decided what her currency is because it's a no-brainer really, it's baby dolls. My girl loves her babies. I put her down almost 2 hours ago and I haven't heard one peep come from her, so maybe this might work out for us. I don't want to jinx it though.

Except, I may have to look up some tips on how to go about dealing with a 2AM tantrum. That's a hard one to figure out.

giveaway found

Win these yummy honey buns over here.

Nothing really to post, I took Zach to the doctor today. He's now 19.5lbs and 27inches long. He's got really bad eczema on his chin & cheeks, yesterday his body was covered in a rash from someone letting him taste something and that's what was left of it this morning. Also, I think his eyes might be changing color. My girls' eyes never changed from blue, so I've never seen any baby's eye change. He's got a strip of greenish brown in his left eye right now, it looks really strange.

The only creative thing going on around here these days is my cross stitch that's going slowly, very slowly. It's all one color, I've never done that before, it's a bit rough on the eyes.
