kreativ blogger award

Look what I got! It's my first ever blog award! I never expected for anyone to nominate me for one of these ever. Liesl from Liesl Made nominated me, she herself is a very creative blogger, I visit her blog everyday. If you haven't ever visited her, you really must, she's a very sweet person. Thank you so much for this Liesl!

The rules of this award are as follows:
1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3. Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
4. Name 7 things about yourself that people might not know.
5. Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.
6. Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know they have been nominated.

Seven things you might not know about me:
1. I have been watching the soap opera Days of Our Lives religiously since I was about 8 years old. Before then, I was watching only during the summer break, thanks mom and grandma for that!
2. My feet are shrinking, I used to wear a size 10.5 shoe and now I can sometimes fit into an 8.5, usually a 9.
3. I cannot grow all my fingernails out anymore, it drives me crazy because when I was younger I had beautiful long nails.
4. I've only ever been in love once. I was scared of it when I was younger, I dumped a really great guy because he said he was in love with me.
5. I'm scared of people, I drank a lot after I moved out of my parents house so I could deal with being around so many new people. I still deal with this fear quite a bit.
6. I hate clutter but I have a hard time keep my home clutter free.
7. I'm a Buffy and Angel fanatic! I watch the dvd's over and over again all the time.

I really cannot nominate only 7 people for this, it's way too hard! Visit everyone in my blogroll because they are all super creative people that I visit everyday.

babywearing

I can remember when I first got into the blogging world, Stephanie's blog was one of the first blogs I started reading. I never really heard much about baby wearing until I found her blog, the way she wrote about it made me want to give it a try with my next baby. I did try it and I loved it, Zach loves it too. There are some days that he'd rather ride in the stroller but our morning walks always have him sitting in the mei tai. Baby wearing definitely is very bonding, I love the closeness between Zach and I. I really hope he doesn't want to quit being worn anytime soon, I'll be sad when that day comes.

Thank you Stephanie for sharing your love of baby wearing with the world! I hope more people discover how great it is.

poladroids

I was reading Jessica's blog the other day and she posted about this super fun gadget called, poladroid, so I downloaded it. This is seriously the coolest gadget! It sits on your desktop and when you drag a picture over to it, it turns it into a polaroid. It even loads just like the real thing.

I've been having so much fun with it! This is the first picture I made using it. I love the way it looks.

Using my favorite picture of Zach from when he was two months old, it looks even cooler now!

And here's some ducks from the park we walk through every day. We see these ducks all the time, they were just babies earlier this year. I really wish I had taken a picture of them then too.

Want to make your own poladroids? Go download it, it's free!

lucky me

I recently won a giveaway over at Liesl Made for an oven mitt and pot holder. Liesl sent with them some yummy extras! Look at it all, I'm super lucky. My sister and I were both drooling over the way it was packaged, the envelope was adorably sewn together.

Thank you so much!

*edited* because I realized I forgot to include this bag holder with the rest of the loot. I've wanted one for so long now and now I don't have to make myself one. It's already getting used.

hexagons

I finally decided on what type of blanket to crochet up for Sami, a hexagon blanket! I used the hexagon tutorial from Attic24 to teach myself to make them. I'm using a size 5 hook instead of a 4, I tried the 4 but I felt they were too tiny for me. I was probably just making my stitches too tight but I love the size 5 hook anyway. They aren't perfect but I'm getting used to making them. I think it's going to be a pretty blanket when it's finally finished.

lovely package exchange

I was a part of the lovely package exchange over at oh hello friend this summer. Yesterday my package from my partner, Katie, came to my door. And boy is it lovely! I would have taken a picture of the package itself but the post office wrote all over it, it was wrapped it a very pretty floral paper.

I love the way everything was wrapped inside, the maps are just gorgeous! I definitely lucked out with my partner, Katie sent really great items. The pictures I took don't show how wonderful it all really is. There's vintage postcards, envelopes, buttons, pins, fabric, beautiful photos, a notebook, yummy chocolate, hand sanitizer, tea, a "love, joy, peace" banner, and a CD with happy music.

Thank you so much for the fabulous package Katie!

don't need this!

These coupons came in the mail the other day. Seeing them made me jump up and down because I don't need them anymore! Lizzy has been fully potty trained now for over a month I think. I've lost track of how long it's actually been, it feels a lot longer than it's been.

This milestone has made me less upset about not having anymore babies because now I only have one left to potty train. Potty training is a bitch, I hate it! After Zach, I never have to do it ever again. Hell yes, it's glorious!

Does anyone out there want some coupons for pull-ups? You will have to live in Canada too, since that's where I live and get them. Leave me a comment if you want them.

look who's one!

Zach turned 1 on Monday! I feel like this year has gone by so fast, I can still vividly remember being in labour and giving birth to him. I remember holding him the moment he came out and lifting his legs to make sure he really was a boy. I knew what the ultrasound lady told me but I couldn't believe it 100% until I saw it for myself.

I remember bringing Zach home from the hospital and how easily we fell back into caring for a newborn. I remember how long it seemed to take for Zach to finally crawl, I have a lazy baby. And now he's trying to walk, sometimes, like I said, I have a lazy baby.

While I know I'll miss him being a small baby, I am only looking forward to him growing and learning so much more. I can't wait for the day that he first says "I love you".

wedding this weekend

A friend of mine is getting married this weekend, I'm so excited to see her in the dress and see her son in his tux. I love weddings, it's been awhile since I've been to one. I'm really nervous about what I'm wearing, I'm wearing a halter dress, I've never worn anything like it before. I've never been a girl to dress up much, I'm trying now though.

I wrapped the present last night, I like the wrapping, except the darn crease in the paper. I bought them this print from Vol.25. I just love Jessica's art! I think my friends will really like this.

the other queen

I finally got around to reading The Other Queen by Philippa Gregory. Just like the other novels she's written about queens, I loved this one too! There wasn't any sex in it but that didn't bother me, I actually didn't notice until I really thought about it after finishing. I'm used to her novels having a lot of sex in them.

This book is all about the Queen Mary of Scots and when she is held in England by Queen Elizabeth. You read all about the different plots to have her freed and returned to Scotland, men are very infatuated by the Scots queen and will do almost anything for her. This includes the man who is ordered to keep her in his homes George Talbot, the Earl of Shrewsbury, although he has a rough time because he is such an honourable man and doesn't not want to do anything against the Queen Elizabeth's wishes.

I read this book really fast, I'll probably read it again someday too, it was so good!

b&w photo for the 1st

I remembered to post a black & white photo at the beginning of the month finally, go me! We were at the park, not sure what she's looking at but I really like the picture. The girl refuses to wear shoes whenever at a playground, she must like the feel of dirt between her toes.
