I don't think I can even put into words how excited I am for this Bronte-along! It's been going on for a little while now but I'm just now getting to posting about it, I'm slow with things sometimes.
The first Bronte book being read, watched, crafted is Jane Eyre. I read this book back in December and absolutely fell in love! I'm rereading it right now, I read it really fast the first time since I had such a hard time putting it down, I'm hoping I can really absorb it more this time around.
Also, I'm trying to watch the BBC version of Jane Eyre. It's taking me such a long time, there never seems to be enough time to really sit and watch it with the kids being sick so often. They're better now, so hopefully it will be watched entirely very, very soon. I've made it through the first episode only, my kids need to let me watch it in peace already! Is BBC the only version of Jane Eyre out there? I know that a lot of classic books get made in to many different movies, so I'm wondering if this is one of those books. If you want to watch the one I'm watching, youtube has the whole thing right here, so you can watch too!

I watched the movie! Read about that here.
I made my last post about Jane Eyre here.
There are actually quite a few versions of Jane Eyre. They have a list of all of them on IMDb.com. BBC did it in 1983 with Timothy Dalton as Rochester. *sigh* It's a little slow moving and lasts a good four hours, but it is the most accurate version I've seen. If you're looking for something a little less time consuming, I would recommend either the 1997 version with Ciaran Hinds, or the 1996 version with William Hurt. Both are very well done. Enjoy! =)
ReplyDeleteHi! Just a reminder to update this original post with any Jane Eyre posts that come after! That way you create a little archive. I wrote about it over at my place if you want to see what I mean.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to more Bronte-Along posts! (Watching the movie right now. SWOON.)
