isn't she a beauty?

There's a contest going on over at Pink and Polka Dot right now for ugliest sofa. I had been on the lookout for a couch for our new basement for awhile now and when I heard about this I decided I would just pick the ugliest one I could find. I can always attempt to recover it later I'm sure.

So, without further ado, I give you my ugly couch.

I really think that this is the ugliest sofa! I would love to prettify her, I think my super stylish 5 year old would like that too. She says this is just not pretty enough for her room. (She's also picking up a lot of snobbery lately)

photography & giveaway

I've been wanting to write about this for awhile but I keep forgetting. I want you all to go over to my friend Amy's website, Amy McMaster Photography. She does amazing work! I'm so happy that she took that plunge and started a photography business because she really is fantastic at what she does.

Amy hasn't been doing this professionally all that long but you would never in a million years believe it once you've seen her photos! I don't have a professional eye or anything but this girl has got some serious talent. She has definitely found her calling.

She's holding a giveaway right now for some actions she created (awesome actions!). So if you're a photographer as well or like to edit your photos OR if you just want to see some really amazing pictures, go see her site! The giveaway ends tomorrow at midnight, so hurry!

giveaway day winner!

The winner of the doilies and coasters via random.org is #6 (so happy it was a low number for me!)...

blanket finished

I am finally finished with Zach's blanket! I finished it awhile ago but with all the rain and Zach not letting go of it, it was pretty difficult to get a finished shot.I didn't think to measure it, so I don't have the finished size, it fits the crib with some hang over, so it's a good size.

I went with a gray border, I was going to go more wild with a bright yellow but I chickened out. I think it looks good this way and I don't hear Zach complaining.

a thing or two

I have things to show you but I'm still trying to get us settled into our new place. It's becoming a bit more homey here, there's still so much to do though.

Don't think I forgot about the giveaway I promised awhile ago, I'm still trying to think of something really great. Since I'm still working on that, I'll have it up for the Giveaway Day at Sew, Mama, Sew! So, make sure you come back May 17th.

I also wanted to share with you a fun new site I found, it's called The CSI Project. Go learn more about the project, it sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun, it all starts up on May 24th. I don't think I'll be in on the first week but I see a few themes in the upcoming weeks I want to be a part of.

Also, be sure to check out her etsy shop, she has really great patterns there! And, she even has some free patterns for you, how awesome is that?
